Every design project contains uncertainty. Your site may reveal unexpected constraints. Building regulations can intersect in complicated ways. Consultants often bring different expertise and priorities. New information may change what we thought we knew.
I am not only comfortable working within that uncertainty, it is also where I thrive. My most valuable work is creating the conditions for clarity, coherence, and for good design to emerge from competing ideas, needs, and constraints.
My role is to understand your project, identify what matters most to you, establish priorities, and create forward movement. Sometimes that means solving a problem directly. Other times it means recognizing whose expertise is needed, asking the right questions, and bringing the right people into the process.
As your project develops, I maintain sight of the whole—coordinating design decisions with site conditions, regulatory requirements, consultant input, constructability, and the objectives we have established for the project. When competing requirements arise, I work to understand their implications, resolve conflicts, and preserve the intent behind the design.
My approach is collaborative rather than hierarchical. I value capable people, clear communication, sound judgment, and giving everyone involved the information and space they need to contribute effectively.
I don't expect the path from an idea to your completed building to be completely predictable. My role is to help you navigate that uncertainty while maintaining clarity, continuity, and the integrity of the project as a whole.
